Project details

Supporting Early Years Educators at Scale

TinyApp set out to enhance daily workflows in early childhood education and strengthen collaboration between educators and families. With rising demand in Finland and beyond, TinyApp needed a digital solution that could adapt to diverse educational contexts without compromising on quality. They required a scalable, reliable platform that could support growth and address the needs of educators, parents and administrators.

Delivering a Scalable, Inclusive Digital Solution

To achieve this, TinyApp partnered with Espeo Software to develop and maintain a cross-platform mobile application and two web dashboards. The aim was to deliver a smart, responsive pedagogical assistant that fits seamlessly into everyday use. We were asked to manage the complete technical delivery: architecture, mobile development, backend services, cloud infrastructure and testing.

How we did it

Discovery & planning

We collaborated with TinyApp’s product owner, business lead and customer representative to define technical and user requirements. Together, we identified pain points in early education and aligned them with scalable digital solutions. This ensured a clear roadmap for core features, user roles and long-term goals.

Infrastructure & Scalability

We configured and maintained a cloud-based backend using Amazon Web Services (AWS). This ensured reliable performance and the flexibility to adapt to new usage levels as TinyApp expanded to new countries. We also tailored capacity to meet the varied demands of small nurseries and larger networks.

Design & development

Our team built a cross-platform mobile application and two web dashboards using React Native and Ruby. We designed intuitive interfaces to meet the practical needs of teachers, parents and administrators. Development focused on modular architecture to support both individual child planning and large-scale organisational use.

Quality Assurance

A dedicated tester reviewed key features and updates, ensuring a stable and accessible experience for users. We followed an iterative testing process, resolving issues quickly and continuously improving the product’s performance across devices and user types.
